House: The main block of the house is a side-gabled, 2 1/2-story, 5x2-bay
Colonial style form. A 2-story, perpendicular addition (our office is
calling this the "ell") connects the barn which is parallel to the
house. Windows are 6/6 double-hung sash with moldings; the center
entry has sidelights and a Colonial Revival
hipped porch. The stout brick chimney is located at the center of the
roof ridge; a second chimney rises from the roof of the addition.
Barn: The front-gabled barn is clad in wood clapboards on the facade and
board and batten on the side elevation. Openings in the facade
include the central vehicle opening with interior hung rolling door and
transom, window openings with hoods and 6/6 double-hung sash and a fixed 16
pane diamond shaped window in the gable peak Architectural ornament on
the facade of the barn includes the gable returns, molded cornice, hood over
the vehicle door and corner boards; ornament on the side elevation is the
arcaded frieze at the eave and above
the board and batten wall field; a modern milk house addition has been made
to the west side of the barn.
Other: The driveway is lined with stone walls and trees in an informal
allée; large open fields are behind the farmhouse and barn. Two granite
slab foundations exist to the west of the house.
